Oredo IGR to hit N250m monthly in 2018 — Obaseki

BENIN—GOVERNOR Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has said that Oredo Local Government Area will be generating over N250 million monthly as Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, from 2018 with the improved method of revenue collection initiated by his administration.
The governor stated this during his thank you visit to the local government area.
According to the governor, revenue generation in the council has improved from N4 million monthly to N37 million as at October 2017, adding that such increase would translate to more development and opportunities for the people of the council.
“Let me also thank you for keying into the ‘Keep Edo Clean Project’, because Oredo is the heart of the city so it needs to be clean and productive to attract investments. I also want to assure that the state government will do all it can to assist Oredo grow,” he stated.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the APC Chairman in Oredo, Godwin Alabi, commended the governor for his several transformational programmes, which impact are already being felt within the city.
Meanwhile, Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Alhaji Kabiru Adjoto, said yesterday, that the just concluded thank you tour to the 18 Local Government Areas of the state by Governor Godwin Obaseki has bonded the administration with All Progressives Congress, APC, members across the state.
The Speaker said the tour has enabled people at the grassroots to understand the plans and policies of government which, according to him, has given them “a sense of belonging in this administration.”
Adjoto, who spoke shortly after receiving Governor Obaseki to Akoko Edo Local Government Area, said the governor has demonstrated his genuine commitment to place Edo State on the map of sustainable development.
