ile-ife—Authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, yesterday, suspended Students’ Union Government, SUG, activities, saying the decision was informed by the need to forestall total breakdown of law and order and curtail acts of brigandage among the students populace.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the university, Mr Abiodun Olarewaju, stated that incessant fighting and unruly behaviour during their congresses and the recalcitrant attitudes of their leadership have made it inevitable for the University Management to suspend their activities.
