INEC begins 3rd phase of voters’ registration in Akwa Ibom

UYO—THE Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will today, flag off the 3rd phase of the registration of eligible voters across the 31 local government areas in Akwa Ibom State.
The exercise has commenced in all the registration units in the local government ares and 8 additional units, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Mr. Mike Igini, has said.
Igini, while addressing staff of Uyo Local Government branch of INEC yesterday, said the eight additional units were designated as registration centres to facilitate the registeration exercise.
Mr Igini, who completed his familiarization tour of the 31 INEC local governments offices in the state called on residents in the state who have lost their PVCs or have relocated to the state, to come forward and be registered.
“We call on all Akwa Ibomites, all Nigerians who have attained the age of 18 and above and those who have moved from where they were domiciled to Akwa Ibom state to avail themselves of the opportunity of the exercise.”
