Ambode flags off ketu lay-bys to ease traffic gridlock
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State yesterday, disclosed plans of his administration to introduce 5,000 buses into the state transportation to ensure easy movement of commuters.
Ambode, who stated this at the commissioning of Ketu Lay-bys, slip and service roads, expressed commitment of his administration to addressing all the transportation challenges across the state.
The governor, particularly said the infrastructure would addressed the perennial traffic gridlock challenge on Ikorodu Road.
Ambode said 800 of the buses would be introduced in the next two months while efforts were ongoing to phase out commercial motorcycles and buses popularly known as “Okada” and “Danfo” respectively, noting that 27,500 sweepers would soon be engaged to ensure all the streets are cleaned.
The governor however, appealed to residents, traders and motorists to corporate with the state government in his transformation agenda in the transportation sector, adding that more lay-bys, roads and other facilities would be provided.
