Work for victory at LG polls —Delta PDP scribe
By Victor Ahiuma-Young
AGGRIEVED members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, have been advised to put their differences aside and work for the victory of the party in the forthcoming local government elections.
State Organizing Secretary of the PDP, Chief Sunday Onoriode, gave the advice at the party’s secretariat in Asaba while addressing members of Otu Ezioko Bu Ndu, a socio-political group in Aniocha South, who were on a peaceful protest over the outcome of the primaries of the PDP in the local government.
Chief Onoriode thanked the people for endorsing Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for a second tenure and assured them of the party’s readiness to address all issues bordering on the local government primaries.
He urged them to ensure that they work for the party and its candidates to enable them reap more dividends of democracy.
Earlier, the leader of the group Mr. John Nwona, said the peaceful protest was to pledge loyalty to Governor Okowa and the party.
They, however, expressed dissatisfaction over the emergence of a flag bearer of the PDP in the forthcoming local government election adding that the process leading to his emergence was flawed.
The group alleged that the flag bearer has had two tenures as local government chairman adding that it was only fair to give others opportunity to serve.
