Shettima flags off construction of Indimi’s N60m village for Bama IDPs

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state on Thursday flagged off the construction of 100 units of 3- room flats worth N60 million donated by Mohammed Indimi Foundation (MIF) for Families of Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs in Bama Local Government Area of the state.

The occasion took place at the Multi Purpose Hall, Government House, Maiduguri.

Shettima had after the flagg off extolled the qualities of the Chairman of Muhammadu Indimi Foundation who is not only an international Business Mogul, but a sympathetic philantrophist who has committed his resources to the needy.

Shettima pointed out the the choice of Bama to benefit is because, it is the worst hit in all the crisis, adding that the choice of Ngala by the foundation, was appropriate because, he Indimi cut his business teeth in Ngala.

He commended the Chairman if MIF for the gesture, as according to him, government is fully committed to ensure safe return of IDPs back to their liberated communities.

In his welcome address, Chairman of the Foundation, a billionaire, Dr. Mohammed Indimi said the Foundation was established to address the need for quality education, healthcare, food and shelter; provision of relief materials in crisis situations and creation of jobs, especially to the teeming youths.

He stated that the lingering Boko Haram activities have left millions of IDPs displaced and in dare need of food and shelter, pointing out that through modest activities and initiatives, the Foundation has contributed in alleviating poverty in communities and unlock Northern Nigeria’s potential.

His words: “Muhammadu Indimi Village Bama, is one of the many steps we have taken in contributing to building better lives for our people

“The village consisting of 100 units of 3- room houses will also include school, mosque, clinic and market.

” The Foundation is also set to build another 100 units of 3- room houses for IDPs in Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area of the state,

“I therefore commended the unflinching support to governor Shettima and Government of Borno state for donating the land for the housing projects in Bama and Ngala.

” In the last two years, we have contributed to the relief funds for IDPs in Borno by providing food items and financial packages to families and host communities.

“We have also created an annual scholarship scheme, which so far has facilitated the admission of students from the state on full scholarship into the International University of Africa, Sudan”. Indimi said.

He therefore called on philantrophic organizations and individuals to assist Borno state in its reconstruction and rebuilding of destroyed communities by insurgents.
