PDP Kogi East passes vote of confidence on Aidoko
The peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward executives in Igah ward 4 consisting of Ugbamaka Igah, the ancestral home of Kogi East Senator Atai Aidoko Ali has said the media allegations over diversion of 10 billion naira meant for provision of social amenities by the Senator was baseless and unfounded.
A statement released and jointly signed by the ward executives chaired by Micheal Igomu, James Alaji, Secretary, Isah Idakwo youth leader and Hajiya Hadiza Okewu and counter signed by Idris Yakubu a community leader condemned in strongest terms the allegations of lack of social and infrastructural development in the area and passed a vote of confidence on Senator Atai Aidoko Ali.
The ward executives stated that efforts were severally made to provide modern boreholes, construction of clinic and provision of light from the Onicha Igo axis to the entire ward and to also improving the epileptic power supply by the state government from Ajaokuta.
The ward PDP leaders stated that at no time did the Senator attempted, contemplated or diverted such a colossal amount of money meant for the development of his immediate communities and the entire people of Kogi east.
The release clarified delay in the provision of some particularly boreholes in the consistent as a result of the terrain and texture of the area, which defied efforts by the Senator over the years to mitigate the desire for water to the people of the area, yet the efforts had paid off throughh the ongoing construction of solar/motorised modern borehole to address the plight all around the area and Kogi east
‘The senator had built schools, clinics in the ward and entire Kogi east and made frantic efforts to connect electricity from the Onitcha Igo end that ran from Ajaokuta, rather than the epileptic oturkpo axis feeding the local government headquarters at Okpo, so as to feed the neighbouring areas of Ogugu, Ikem, Ofante, Iga Ikeje with first grid electricity and to other adjoining communities’
The ward executives frowned at the allegations of diversion of funds, describing the statement as an afterthought, instigating and counter productive, instead of the government been held accountable in these areas and the prevailing low poverty line of our people in the last two years owing to sheer refusal to meet its obligations of ordinary payment of salaries to workers and pensioners.
The ward leaders promised unalloyed support to the Kogi east senator, promising to support him in his future ambition and aspirations to top political positions,so as to attract more dividends of democracy to the people of the area.
