One dies in Lagos-Ibadan Road crash

An accident, which claimed the life of one person and injured five others, occurred on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, leading to traffic gridlock that lasted for hours.
Three vehicles were involved in the accident, which reportedly occurred on Ayetoro axis in-bound Lagos, at about 4.45a.m.
The affected vehicles were a truck, number plates FST 893 XT, an unidentified Iveco truck and a DAF truck with number plates XG 189 MKA.
The accident, confirmed by spokesperson of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, occurred when the driver of the Iveco truck drove against traffic and rammed into the other trucks, leading to the death of the driver of the Iveco truck, while six others were injured.
Two male occupants were said to be in the vehicles and rescue operation was performed by TRACE, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and the Nigeria Police Force, who jointly deposited the body at the morgue of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Shagamu.
Many road users were held up in the traffic for hours, but normalcy later returned to the road after the accidented vehicles were removed from the scene.
