Ibori, Okowa, Dickson, others to honour Darah at 70

Nigerians from all walks of life will today gather at the Conference Centre of the Petroleum Training Institute, PTI, Effurun, Delta State, to honour one of Nigeria’s most enduring scholars and public intellectuals, Professor G. G. Darah, who recently retired from Delta State University, Abraka, on the attainment of the retirement age of 70.


In the front burner of the event is the presentation of a book titled: Scholarship and Commitment: Essays in Honour of G. G. Darah edited by the trio of Sunny Awhefeada, Enajite Ojaruega and Peter Omoko, and published by the Lagos based publishing outfit, Malthouse.

The event will be chaired by Chief James Ibori, former Governor of Delta State, while the incumbent Governors of Delta and Bayelsa states, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and Seriake Dickson will both feature as Special Guests of Honour.
