MAKURDI – The remains of one of the two missing Police officers who went missing after they were ambushed few days ago by suspected herdsmen at Azege village in Logo local government area was Saturday afternoon recovered by the Police.
Vanguard recalls that after the ambush two officers were declared missing by the Police, one of the missing officers was found dead in the village three days later with some of his vital organs removed.
It was gathered from a reliable source in the community that the already decomposing body of the second officer, which also had parts of his organs removed was discovered in the village by the search and rescue team of the force.
“They discovered the decomposing body this afternoon without some of his vital organs. The body was immediately moved in a security van to Makurdi town.” The source said.
Meanwhile the Benue state Police command is yet to issue a statement on the recovery and the command’s spokesman, Assistant Superintendent, ASP, Moses Yamu, when contacted said he was yet to get the details.
“I need to find out, I don’t readily have the details.” He said.
